I live in Harrogate with my wife Linda and border terrier Rafferty. My boys are grown
up and we now have 3 Grandchildren. I have worked in Financial services since I
escaped from teaching aged 34. I built my business until age 40 when I had a major
“hiccup” . I collapsed on a training run and after various investigations ended up
having open heart surgery due to a type of cardiomyopathy. This disease was not
covered by critical illness plans then, however the Insurance Company paid out 25%
of my cover as an Ex-Gracia payment which meant I could recover without financial
stress.
Since then I have adjusted my life, stopped running, still exercising, good diet and
still advising clients on protecting their family and business.
